Educational activities

Educational activities help us spread our values and find like-minded people, inspiring us with new ideas. We don’t just pass on theoretical knowledge and talk about our experience, but teach how to apply them immediately in practice and realize them in material.

Building playgrounds together with professional architects

In 2019, at the invitation of Vincente Guallart, former Chief Architect of Barcelona, Darya Bychkova, co-founder of "Cheharda Bureau," conducted a four-week intensive course at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) titled "Wild Nature: Designing and Building from Trees of Natural Unchanged Form." The result of the training and joint work of 18 architects from 10 countries was a ten-meter climbing structure made of natural wood in the Serra de Collserola Natural Park on the outskirts of Barcelona. And it all started in 2017 at a workshop on public spaces in Vladivostok, where architects from "Cheharda Bureau" mentored a group of students working on the development of a site with a children’s zone.

Building architectural objects together with children

In 2018−2019, together with children, we designed and built the "Lighthouse-Seekers" object and the adjacent children’s playground on the bank of the Moskva River in the village of Nikolina Gora. We also built a play zone in the "Green School" in Gorky Park. Why do we do this? In our projects, children learn to understand space, think through details, work with their hands, feel responsible for their decisions, and, of course, see the results of their labor. We give children a unique opportunity to participate in the construction not of models made from temporary materials, but of real structures that will stand for many years. Children who have participated in our construction projects help maintain architectural objects in good condition and care for them.
